Our meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24 and Willie Zwiener led us in a heartful prayer. 

Updates from Mike Holloway included favorable financial and attendance reports, and most encouraging, the news that our church-wide ministries will resume in September following the long drought caused by COVID. 

Adult Sunday School, High School, Middle School and Children’s Sunday School will be sandwiched between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services. No nursery or preschool classes will be available during the 8:00 a.m. service, but they will be running during the Sunday School hour and the 10:30 a.m. service.

Midweek classes will be active again, also. Other upcoming scheduled events include a ministry fair on August 29, the Fall Family Picnic on September 12th and the Fall Family Conference on October 8 and 9.      

Our ministry guest was Andrew Meyer, pastoral intern. He described his ministry activity leading a home group and primarily the high schoolers, revealing his thought-out curriculum plans.

He is enthusiastic for those coming alongside him and to be able to regularly meet again on both Sundays and Wednesdays.  

Keith took us on a review and discussion of chapter 2 of the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689, covering the Holy Trinity. The writers had quite the task to coalesce the scripture to describe the character and nature and persons and immensity of God in the limited space of three paragraphs - but as much as was humanly possible, they admirably succeeded.   

Concerns for needy church members were addressed and progress on interior painting, table and chair purchases, and parking lot improvements were shared. 

The elders approved new role leaders for the deacons this next year: Keith Walter, Martin Bast, and John Schmoll will be the acting Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Secretary, respectively. 

Our next meeting was set for September 28, with the plan to invite Jeff and Sheryl Roach to hear about the new Senior Ministry they are leading. Mike closed our time in prayer and we adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
