The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. Michael Herrington opened us in prayer, giving thanks for the blessings we have in Christ and the honor we have to serve the body at OBC.

Dave Guthrie reviewed giving updates for the previous month, as Pastor Mike Holloway wasn’t able to join us. Income was up for the month of January and expenses were down, helping lead to encouraging progress of the finances.

We praised God for the faithful giving of the body at OBC and for all that He has blessed us with.

Martin Bast then led us through chapter 16 of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 on Good Works. We discussed the importance of good works, as fruits and evidence of our faith. We were also encouraged by the truths found in Ephesians 2 that we are His workmanship, created for good works.

Dave Guthrie was our ministry guest leader. He serves the body in a variety of ways, including leading a home group, counseling, and teaching. Dave also serves as treasurer for OBC. It was encouraging to hear his passion for serving the body at OBC and for the furtherance of the gospel. Please remember to keep the elders in prayer as they serve us.

We discussed numerous other ministry plans, including cleaning out the ministry store room and the upcoming All-Church Work Day on April 20. 

We closed in prayer at 9:00 p.m. The next meeting is Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m.
