Elders Report

The elders met on the morning of Wednesday, March 20 at Omaha Bible Church and Senior Pastor Pat Abendroth opened the meeting with prayer for thoughtful wisdom for us as we seek to provide godly leadership to our local church.

Dan Perina led us through the consideration of chapter 21 of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 on the subject of Christian Liberty and Liberty of Conscience. A topic that is particularly relevant to our times as it was in 1689.

Our treasurer Dave Guthrie gave us a very positive update on the finances of our church. We had a strong month of financial performance in February as our giving was $67,845, which is $1,094 over our planned giving.

We saved a considerable amount with regard to our expenses as we only spent $53,209 in February, which was a strong $13,973 under our planned expenses. After considering depreciation this brought our net income for the month to a positive $10.349 and brings our net income for the year to $79,441.

This positive net income is allowing us to rebuild our cash reserves after we paid off our building in June of 2023. Overall, it was a very good month financially.

Further discussion took place during the remainder of the meeting regarding missionary support issues, membership, and pastoral ministry considerations.

Todd Swift closed our meeting in prayer for the many people and topics we discussed during the evening.
