The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met at 7:00pm on September 26th. The meeting was opened with prayer thanking God for His faithful provision, offering thanksgiving and seeking wisdom from above to serve well to the praise and honor of His name.

We started the meeting by discussing the end of the previous ministry year. The financial report ‘boasted’ the best ever end-of-year fiscal numbers witnessed at OBC.  

Keith Walter conducted our devotional through article six of the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, covering the Fall of Man, Sin, & Punishment. It truly made us all sober (and thankful) to consider that apart from His amazing grace, the Lord God had a just case against us who fell victim and complicit to ‘this original corruption, whereby we (were) utterly indisposed, disabled and made opposite to all good.’

Our ministry guest was John Endrise who leads the Building and Facility ministry. He was clearly encouraged by the tangible improvements taking place to the roof. (Special thanks to Ian Pille for the extra volunteer labor!) Concrete repair for the sidewalk, installation of new interior door closers and repair to the building’s A/C unit were other target areas soon to be completed.

Other topics discussed included benevolence, a proposal for painting the Children’s Ministry rooms, potential outbuilding solutions and the scheduling of our participation to serve the monthly communion.

Our next meeting is scheduled for October 24th. We closed in prayer and adjourned at 9:00pm.
