The deacons met on Tuesday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss ministry opportunities, a devotional, and overview a few of the ministries that Pastor Chris Peterson oversees.

Martin Bast facilitated the meeting and opened in prayer for us. Keith Walter recorded the action items and took minutes.

Chris Peterson brought along Pat Innis to provide encouragement about the Open Door Mission ministry. Pat provided a picture of the great opportunity to share the gospel, the need for the word of God to be preached and the desire of some to hear the word. 

Chris gave an overview of the changes in Children’s Church and how more people are becoming involved. This is a great opportunity to become plugged into this ministry while observing others teaching, doing crafts, interacting with children and learning along with them.

The hope is to prepare parents and other adults to be able to serve in different capacities in this ministry and others by training them.

Chris also provided a review of the upcoming Wednesday night classes and a quick survey of how the high school ministry is going.

Martin led our devotional of chapter 19, The Law of God, in the London Baptist Confession of 1689. 

Martin then closed our time with prayer.
