The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met on the evening of September 26 for our monthly meeting. We began the meeting with Mike Holloway leading us in prayer. We praised God for the redeeming work of His Son, sought wisdom for His servants, and asked for grace to love the body passionately.

We welcomed our newest deacons (Dwight Eveland, Greg Gensler, and Michael Herrington) and heard the many ways they are serving the OBC body.

We also began our new rotation of roles for the next term. Martin Bast has assumed the Chairman role, John Schmoll as Vice-chairman and Vimal George as Secretary. Martin Bast facilitated our meeting and Mike Holloway shared news and updates, followed by the review of attendance and financial report.

We ended our financial year in August and we rejoiced in God’s provision to pay off our building mortgage. God has blessed us tremendously as a church and we ought to respond with greater trust as He continues to build His church.

Mike Holloway led us in the devotional on Adoption from Chapter 12 of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 that encourages us in that, we are made partakers of the grace of adoption, conferred upon us solely for the sake of Jesus Christ, where within we enjoy all the liberties and privileges as God’s children to live unto Him out of gratitude!

We discussed various topics such as, the Pactum conference and the Fall church workday (October 12). We trust that the conference was a blessing to all who came. We give thanks to our God for the spiritual gifts endowed upon all the speakers for equipping and building up of the saints.

We also reviewed our ongoing service opportunities within the body and other areas of need. Our next meeting will be held on October 24, 2023. We ended our meeting in prayer expressing our gratitude for the opportunity to serve the one living God!
