The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Vimal George opened us in prayer, giving thanks for the blessings we have in Christ and the honor we have to serve the body.

Pastor Mike Holloway reviewed giving updates for the previous month. Giving has continued to be strong in 2021. We praised God for the continuous faithful giving of the body at OBC.

Pastor Mike also shared that we have several new members joining OBC. We should see them join in May.

Martin Bast led us through a discussion of Chapter 31 of The London Baptist Confession of 1689 – “Man’s State After Death & Resurrection.” It was a thoughtful discussion on the truth of what happens after death and our personal resurrection.

Dave Guthrie was our ministry guest leader. Besides being an elder, Dave serves in various roles at OBC, including leading a Home Group and teaching Adult Bible School classes. It was encouraging to hear all of the different ways Dave serves and his desire to show the love of Christ to the body at OBC.

We discussed numerous other ministry plans, including the Fall Family Picnic, which is tentatively scheduled for September 12. That will also dovetail with a celebration of the 30^th anniversary of OBC.

There is an all-church outdoor service tentatively planned for May 23, so be on the lookout for further information for that.

Pastor Mike closed us in prayer at 9:00pm. The next meeting is Tuesday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m.
