The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday, January, 28 at 7:00 p.m. Martin Bast opened us in prayer, giving thanks for the blessings we have in Christ and the honor we have to serve Him.

Pastor Mike Holloway reviewed the giving and attendance updates for the previous month. Both were strong, causing us to praise God for His provision.

Pastor Mike also shared that we will have 19 new members joining OBC in February.

Keith Walter led us through a discussion on Chapter 23 of The London Baptist Confession of 1689 – Lawful Oaths and Vows.

It was a thoughtful discussion touching on the differences between an oath and a vow. Namely, that we are to make vows to God alone.

Andrew Meyer was our ministry guest leader. Andrew serves in various roles at OBC, and most recently is helping Pastor Chris lead the Children’s Church Ministry.

Andrew is helping create lesson plans for classes and recruit volunteers. If you would like to serve a few Sundays throughout the year, please contact Andrew to learn how you can get involved.

We discussed other ministry areas, including the storage room across from the kitchen and the upcoming Church Workday on April 18. Please look for further announcements regarding both and how you can serve.
