The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. Jon Widhalm opened us in prayer, giving thanks for the blessings we have in Christ and for the gift we have of serving Him at OBC.

Martin Bast facilitated the meeting as Pastor Mike Holloway was on vacation. Martin opened by sharing attendance and giving figures from the previous month. Giving is up year over year, and attendance continues to be strong. We gave thanks to God for blessing us in both cases.

John Schmoll led a discussion of Chapter 22 of The London Baptist Confession of 1689 – Worship and The Sabbath Day, about the importance of aligning worship with Scripture, and through no mediator other than Christ.

Women’s Ministry leader Nicole Schmoll shared about all the ladies are doing to foster a community that encourages one another through the different seasons of life. If you’re interested in serving within the ministry, please contact Nicole for involvement opportunities.

We discussed the many building improvements accomplished during the All-Church Workday and discussed ways to organize the ministry resource room.

Martin closed us in prayer at 9:00 p.m. The next meeting is Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m.
