Elders Report

The Elders of Omaha Bible Church met for their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 12th. The meeting was opened in prayer by Pastor Pat. Todd Swift then led the elders in a discussion and consideration of the eighth chapter of the London Baptist Confession of 1689.

The chapter is on the topic of Christ the Mediator. This chapter is full of Christ exalting truth regarding the role of Christ as the one mediator between God and men. In Christ we have a perfect Savior who by his “perfect obedience and sacrifice of Himself…procured reconciliation, and purchase an everlasting inheritance in the kingdom of heaven for all those whom the Father hath given unto Him” (LBC 8.5).

Following our discussion on Christ our mediator, we turned our attention to the financial reports for the month of August. The fiscal year at Omaha Bible Church is September through August so our financial report was also an end of year report as well.

For the year we had an income $845,152. This is a tremendous blessing and provision by God as the budgeted income for the year was $706,671. Expenses for the year were $719,581 compared to budgeted expenses of $675,465.

Due to the higher than planned income numbers for the year we were able to take care of some needed repairs and maintenance around the building. We are in awe of God’s provision and faithfulness over the past fiscal year. Thank you for your generous giving and partnership in gospel ministry at Omaha Bible Church.

The meeting wrapped up with a brief discussion of the all the fall ministries kicking off for the year. Included in this is a new Getting Started class on Sunday mornings. This class serves as our membership class at OBC.

We are grateful for how Christ is building His church and for the opportunity we have to be a part of the ministry here at OBC. May Christ be praised as the gospel goes forth!
