The elders of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. for their monthly meeting. Pastor Pat opened the meeting in prayer, giving thanks to the Lord for those that he has brought to the ministry. We are continually grateful for the gospel ministry that the Lord gives us at OBC.

Andrew Meyer led the elders in reading Chapter 11 from the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 on justification. As we read the section we were reminded that we are justified, or declared righteous, only because of the work of Jesus Christ for us.

There is nothing in us, or anything that we could do that would justify us before the Lord. As we read in the confession, “faith, thus receiving and resting on Christ, and his righteousness, is alone the instrument of justification.” Praise God that the Lord Jesus Christ has accomplished redemption for us and by grace through faith in him alone we are justified with a sure salvation.

Dave Guthrie presented the financial report. Income for the month of April was $59,818 compared to a budget of $72,936. Expenses were good as we spent $56,469 compared to expected expenses of $59,096. The elders are thankful for all the Lord continues to provide financially for the ministry of the gospel at Omaha Bible Church.

Thank you for your generous giving and participation in the ministry. We continue to pray, and ask that you would pray with us, that the Lord will continue to sustain fruitful ministry in the days ahead.

The elders are excited to let you know that in the month of June, we will be paying off the remainder of the loan on our building. It is amazing to see how the Lord has worked over many years to provide financially for us as a church, and to bring us to this point. Thank you again for your faithful and generous giving. 

During a discussion about membership, the elders approved four new members. Brian and Shelby McCoy, Tate Moeller, and Katie Witkowski were all approved as members.

The elders then discussed the upcoming Pactum Conference, which is on October 6-7, 2023 and is titled, All Things New. Joining us will be guest speakers, Michael Beck, Darryl Hart, and Mike Abendroth. Pastor Pat will be speaking as well.
