Elders Report

The Elders met for their monthly meeting on the morning of August 10. Pastor Pat opened our meeting in prayer. Following prayer, Frank Barber gave an update on attendance and finances for the month of July. Our giving for the month of July was $70,811 compared to the budgeted giving of $59,207. The Lord has continued to be faithful and provide for the church financially.

Following the financial report, the elders turned their attention to the budget. The fiscal year at Omaha Bible Church is September-August and with the new budget year approaching, the elders approved the budget for the coming ministry year. We are praying that we will be good stewards of the resources God has given us for the progress of the gospel.

The elders then discussed upcoming ministry opportunities as fall is around the corner. Many of our ministries will be starting back up again and there will be a tremendous opportunity to proclaim Christ and Him crucified. Mark your calendars for CTA, Jr. High, Sr. High and an adult theology class beginning on Wednesday, September 7. Women of the Word will begin on September 13 and 14.

Mike Holloway then presented to the elders bids he has received to repair and seal our roof. Due to the age of the roof and the type of material used we have several leaks and we have been looking for repair options. The elders approved one of the bids and repairs will take place this fall. Again, we have seen the Lord graciously provide for our needs in this repair issue. In June we were able to refinance our loan on the building and roll the roof repair into the new loan. This allowed us to have the funds necessary to repair the roof and at the same time lower our monthly payments on the building. We are grateful and in awe of God’s goodness.

We trust that you will join us in praying for the upcoming ministry year. We are praying for lives to be impacted by the truth of God’s Word and the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. May we make much of Him as we strive together in gospel ministry.
