The monthly Deacons Meeting was held on Tuesday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at OBC. We discussed a variety of ministry opportunities, held a devotional, reviewed finances and received an overview of the Grounds Ministry that Tim Hare is heading up.

Pastor Mike Holloway facilitated the meeting while John Widhalm opened the meeting in prayer and praise for all that Christ has accomplished for us. Vimal George led our devotional in our continued review of The London Baptist Confession of 1689, this time considering chapter 4, which was on the topic of creation.

We reviewed a number of ministry items including an update on the roof. The roof work was completed in July, but there are damaged ceiling tiles that need to be replaced next. We also discussed the All-Church Workday, which will tentatively be held on October 7.

Care group format was discussed; we talked about how Care Groups are going to be reformatted into smaller sizes and renamed ‘Home Groups.’ We also discussed the upcoming Fall Family Conference, which is scheduled to take place on October 28.

The body should look for more information about the All-Church Workday, Home Groups and Fall Family Conference to come in the weeks ahead.
