The Deacons of OBC met on Tuesday, November 28th. Willie Zwiener opened us in prayer. Mike Holloway encouraged us with an update on church finances and Home Group attendance. Having more and smaller groups has resulted in higher attendance.

A few exterior projects were discussed including replacing the existing parking lot lights with LED fixtures and procuring a secure storage building for maintaining equipment and other large items currently stored in the ministry resources room. We discussed a few interior projects as well, including repainting and decorating Sunday school rooms.

Martin Bast led us in a discussion of chapter 7 of the London Baptist Confession – God’s Covenant. It’s always refreshing to be reminded of His great faithfulness to us.

Guest ministry leaders Chris and Shawna Innis shared about the high school group’s focus on ‘contextualizing life’ and developing a worldview that doesn’t distort the image of God as so many contemporary world-views do, and about the fellowship ministry.

If there’s food at a church event, thank Shawna and the many people who serve consistently and faithfully in this ministry. Everyone’s cooperation is appreciated in keeping Shawna informed when using disposable items from the kitchen pantry so she can keep it stocked.
