The elders met on the evening of October 6th at 7:00pm at Omaha Bible Church. Pastor Pat Abendroth began the meeting with prayer for the church, for the proclamation of the gospel and for the decisions we will make as elders.

He then proceeded to read chapter nine of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 on the subject of Free Will. After some discussion, Pastor Pat summarized our discussion by noting, "We are free to act according to our nature." We also discussed the newly published edition of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 with a forward by Pastor Pat. These are now available for purchase in the OBC Bookstore.

We talked for a few minutes about the Fall Conference scheduled for Saturday, October 28 including the content of the two sessions Pastor Pat will teach and the breakout session, which will offer two classes, one by Pastor Chris Peterson and one by Pastor Mike Holloway.

Pastor Pat discussed the rather full membership class that is going on in his office on Sunday mornings as nine people are attending. 

The elders approved providing financial support for Ministry Intern Jay Wipf to begin taking seminary classes through a distance learning/online program and also approved providing support for one potential seminary candidate to visit a seminary he is considering attending and also to attend a pastors conference there.

The elders also discussed some very encouraging and positive interactions with those visiting the church in recent weeks. September financial reports were not yet ready to be presented at this meeting. The meeting was closed with prayer around 9:00pm.
