Elders Report

The elders met at 6:30 a.m. on December 19, 2018 and Senior Pastor Pat Abendroth opened our time in prayer; praising the Lord for the way he has blessed us with the gospel and his Son, Jesus Christ whose coming we celebrate this month.

Pastor Pat also thanked the Lord for providing for our church and the people of our body in so many wonderful ways through the work of the Spirit.

Chris Peterson led us through a brief discussion of Chapter 23 of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 on the topic of Lawful Oaths and Vows. This was followed by the financial reports provided by Mike Holloway.

We fell just short of reaching our budgeted giving amount in November by $475 and now after the first three months of our fiscal year we are below our budgeted giving by $3,511. On the expense side of things our expenses for November were under our planned expenses by $676 and we are now below our planned expenses for this fiscal year by $4,701.

When you factor in our depreciation of $4,687 each month, that puts our net income for the year at negative $2,057, which is below where we would like to be at this point in the year. December and January are usually strong months of giving for our church and that will be necessary again this year to bring us into a strong financial position for the remainder of the year.

We reviewed the membership roster for our church for the first time in over a year and as a result removed 13 people from membership because they have either moved away or left the church and thus no longer attend.

While Pastor Pat remains as the Chairman of the Elders each year, most of the other offices rotate among the elders on an annual basis. The Vice-Chairman for 2019 is Dallas Focht, the Secretary is Dave Guthrie, and the treasurer will remain Frank Barber again in 2019.

The next meeting of the elders was set for the morning of January 23, 2019, and the meeting was adjourned.
