Elders Report

On Wednesday, August 14, the elders held their monthly meeting to review and consider a short list of items centered on a review of our present financial condition, finalizing current budget year expenses, as well as discussing and approving the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year Budget.

As always, our meeting began with prayer, mindful of our absolute dependence upon our righteous and merciful Lord Jesus Christ. Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, working in and through His body of believers at Omaha Bible Church, we continue to grow in our understanding and appreciation for our God who not only saves us but who also sanctifies us.

As we grow in our understanding of who we are in Christ, we act and speak as Christians finding our confidence and assurance in Him.

Speaking of confidence, we can be in awe of His kindness and goodness toward His body at OBC regarding our financial position. It wasn’t that long ago when Mike Holloway was up before us in the auditorium sharing with us the news of a budget shortfall.

Mike lovingly and encouragingly exhorted us to consider our giving. By the grace of God, the body of OBC responded. At the end of July, we posted a net income of $123,802 – praise the Lord!

We still have one month to go in the current fiscal year, but it appears we will be in a strong financial position going into the new fiscal year. An added praise to our net income position, is based upon the fact our lender requires us to maintain a net income level of $36,000.

So, great news all the way around. Praise the Lord (again)!

As noted above, we did approve the new fiscal year’s budget.  As elders we encourage you to look forward with anticipation, yet again, to see how and what the Lord accomplishes through His body at OBC.

Please be in prayer for the body of believers at OBC. Be prayerful not only for your own spiritual growth and faithfulness to the gospel of Jesus Christ but also for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
