Elders Report

The Elders of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday evening, April 10. Our meeting was opened in prayer and with thanksgiving for what the Lord is doing at OBC.

Pastor Chris Peterson read and reviewed with us Chapter 15 in the 1689 London Baptist Confession on repentance and salvation. It reminds us in paragraph four, “as repentance is to be continued through the whole course of our lives, upon the account of the body of death, and the motions thereof, so it is every man’s duty to repent of his particular known sins particularly.”

The ongoing sanctification in the life of a believer is continued in paragraph five, “The provision which God has made through Christ in the covenant of grace for the preservation of believers unto salvation……which makes the constant preaching of repentance necessary.” This is such a great reminder to remember the Gospel and preach it to yourself daily.

Attendance in March averaged 344 people, and March giving totaled $44,207.67. That was less than the budget of $57,706.72. Fiscal year-to-date giving is $441,588 and is $6,230 more than the budgeted amount of $435,358. We appreciate your prayers and participation for the giving to OBC.

We are fast approaching the end of the month of May and the summertime recess for many of our children’s and adult ministries. Be in prayer for how the Lord can use you in the lives of one another this summer.

The ongoing ministry to the saints (one anothers) is vital and the extra time many of us have in the summer frees us up for new and different ways to love and spur one another to love and good deeds (Heb 10:24). As it is said, “If you don’t plan on it, then don’t plan on it.”
