Elders Report

The elders met for their monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 14. Our evening began with prayer exalting Christ for His sufficiency and beseeching His grace for the many facets of gospel ministry.

Our discussion for the evening opened with a review of the financial reports for the month of November. We noted that general fund giving was approximately $74,000 for the month against expenses of $61,000.

Although our budgeted income was $83,000, we were encouraged that our expenses were lower for the month. We are thankful for the reminder that God is the provider and sustainer.

The elders and pastors were especially encouraged by the opportunity to consider a new candidate for the office of elder. At this stage we are in preliminary discussions and prayer.

While the candidacy is a lengthy process involving both intensive preparation and testing in systematic theology, biblical theology, pastoral ministry, and preaching, we are especially thankful that God continues to raise men within the body who exhibit Christ-likeness of character and faithfulness in holding fast the word of truth and the glory of the gospel.

Finally, the elders were greatly encouraged by the report from our Senior Pastor that the Lord had worked in the hearts of friends of Omaha Bible Church to financially partner with OBC in the training of prospective students for pastoral ministry.

It is our prayer that God will continue to use His body to give and serve for the advancement of the gospel and the kingdom of His beloved Son.

We are thrilled to be joined together with each member of the OBC body in the furtherance of the gospel!

Grace and Peace,
