Aaron Sasane Update

My name is Aaron Sasane and I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself and my family, and talk about my seminary journey.

I am from Pune, India, and am currently a student in the Master of Divinity program at Westminster Seminary California. My wife, Abi, two-year-old son, Jonny, and I made the move from India to the U.S. in August 2021.

It was a challenging move with a delayed student visa appointment, several COVID travel restrictions, and cancelled flights, but the Lord opened ways and provided for us to reach the seminary a day before the Fall semester began. We had to quarantine for a few days after international travel, so my first day of class was on Zoom, but we were just so thankful to finally make it here!

The Lord has provided a wonderful community on the seminary campus. Many students came around us and helped us set up our new apartment so we could quarantine and recover from jet lag.

Things got off to a busy start and I soon found myself delving deep into subjects such as Ancient Church History, Hebrew, Ministry of the Word, Apologetics, and more. The first few months were challenging as I adjusted to a new education system and culture, but God provided much grace and strength in our time of need.

One of the major challenges in our first semester was not having a car. We prayed and trusted the Lord much for the need. It was amazing to see how God provided a good used car in January 2022. We are so grateful to friends who sacrificially gave to help us buy a car.

Another huge challenge was our son struggling with the cold, dry air here. It was hard to see him struggle with cough and cold every day for almost two months after we arrived, but he is doing much better now.

After a little over six months here, we finally feel settled and it is because of dear friends like you who have prayed, encouraged, and supported us. We are so thankful for OBC’s continued love and support in our seminary journey.

It was a joy to meet many of the OBC elders during their trip to San Diego in January 2022. How refreshing it was to my soul! We will be traveling to Omaha in June and are looking forward to meeting you all, Lord willing.

I am in my second semester of the first year and finals are not very far off. Please pray that the Lord will continue to give much wisdom and knowledge.

In Christ,

Aaron, Abi and Jonny
