Elders Report

The OBC Elders met for their regular monthly meeting at 6:30 a.m. on November 11, 2020. The meeting began with Pastor Pat leading the elders in a time of prayer. The Lord commands us as Christians to pray about all things, especially when it comes to local church ministry and the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. He is our Savior and He is Lord over all things and for this we are so very thankful.

The Lord has always been good, especially during this current pandemic, where so many members of the church body have been faithful in attendance either in person at one of our four services or attending online.

We also praise Him for the continued sacrificial giving that is vital to ministry as well as it is encouraging to the elders and the entire body. The gospel of good news continues to be preached from the pulpit as well as through various ministries of Omaha Bible Church.

We are praising the Lord for His mighty power to work in the hearts of all, to hear and believe in the saving work of Christ Jesus, even during this unique time. We have seen so many new people, so continue to pray for our outreach ministry as we serve those who attend. Also, please continue to pray for the leadership that includes so many faithful servants that guide all our various ministries.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Christmas Eve service in December. This year we will have two services, 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., on December 24. You will be asked to sign up, so be looking for that announcement. Also be in prayer for opportunities during this holiday season for gospel proclamation around family meals as well during the Christmas Eve service.

The elders are also pleased to announce several new members this month. They include: Drew and Karlie Engle, Bob and Brenda Green, and Carrie Largen. Also included in this new member list are those approved in October, who include: Nick and Abby Sieber, Carla Brown, Lucas and Jessica Sullivan, James and Brittany Gage, and Lisa Anderson.

We are very thankful for the Lord adding these precious souls to the church body. Please pray for our new members and the encouragement they bring to the entire church family. Also announced in this meeting were those who were removed from membership at their request. They include: Josh and Penny Casebeer, and Mark and Celene Smith.

Finally, the new members from this month and last month will be presented publicly on December 13, 2020 at our Sunday morning services.

Frank Barber, our treasurer, was unable to present our Giving and Attendance Report from October 2020 as they were not available. Next month, both October and November numbers will be presented.

Be encouraged and be in prayer for the continued sacrifices of our entire body. It is vital we meet and reach our planned budget for the entire year. We are amazed to see how God has blessed us with many opportunities for ministries here at Omaha Bible Church in these recent and turbulent times.

The meeting closed at 7:15 a.m. The next regularly scheduled meeting is planned for December 9, 2020.
