Elders Report

The Elders of Omaha Bible Church met for their regular monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. on November 12, 2019. The meeting began with Pastor Pat leading the elders in a time of prayer. The Lord commands and desires us as Christians to pray about all things, especially when it comes to the local church ministry and the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.

It was a short time ago that we as a local body had our annual Fall Conference featuring Matthew Barrett’s teaching on the attributes of God. It was an amazing benefit to all of us.

We were taught the orthodox view of the person of God which resulted in our worship and gratitude. We as an elder board continue to pray for sanctifying results of the truths learned about God Himself.

We as a church are in the fall ministry time, with many ministries on Wednesdays and Sundays. We pray for fruitful labor by many, serving in many roles to support and proclaim the gospel.

Knowing Him and serving Him is our great honor as Christians. Please be in prayer about the faithfulness of the ministry leaders and for all of those involved as servants of Christ, especially during home group meetings where ministry flourishes and grows the body of Christ.

Frank Barber discussed the Giving and Attendance Report from October 2019. The monthly general offering totals were $109,505 against a plan of $76,555. We are praying for continued sacrificial giving to continue in the months ahead, to meet and reach our budget for August 2020.

The average Sunday attendance for October was 387. We are praising God for the faithfulness of attendance and worship. The privilege to gather in freedom is never taken for granted. Your prayers for faithfulness to Christ are vital.

We are amazed to see how God has blessed us with many opportunities for ministries here at OBC and how the body engages in the local communities with the love of Christ in their hearts and that the needed message of gospel is shared.

The elders approved three people for church membership, who include: Fred and Monica Koffi and Matt Fjare. We are thankful for their additions to OBC.

Committing oneself to the local church is an awesome reality for every Christian and the local church itself. We are praying for many more to join as the Lord brings many to Himself.

The meeting closed at 8:50 p.m. The next regularly scheduled Elders meeting is planned for December 16, 2019.
