Elders Report November 2024

The elders met for the monthly meeting on the evening of Tuesday, October 15. Pastor Pat opened the meeting with prayer and we thank God for how he works through us as a church knowing that he is sovereign over this world and we remember that he is building his church.

Dan Perina read Article 27 of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 titled, Of The Communion of Saints. It is a blessing to read through the confession with the Pactum conference this previous weekend. This chapter of the confession reminds us that we as believers are united in Christ and we share communion with one another.

Many people that came to the conference did not know each other before arriving, but we came together as one and worshiped Jesus in whom we are all united. What a blessing it was to hear so many fellow saints singing in unison as we sang songs of worship to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mike Holloway reported on the September financial report. Giving for the month of September was short about $12,000 but the expenses were also under budget by about $5,000 for the month. We are thankful for God providing the money to the church to do ministry.

Mike Holloway also reported that the church bookstore had over $8,000 in sales for the conference weekend, which is such a blessing. The Pactum merchandise store that was in the library also had great sales totaling over $5,000.

The elders reflected on the Pactum Conference and shared many wonderful stories of encouragement. Stories of great theological conversations with fellow believers and meeting new friends. The conference was amazing and the speakers were fantastic. What a beautiful weekend to come together to learn more about the law/gospel distinction and understand why it is so important for us to continue to teach.

Chris Peterson closed the meeting in prayer. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00 pm.
