The Elders of Omaha Bible Church met for their monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 18 at 6:30 a.m. Pastor Pat opened the meeting in prayer, giving thanks for the ministry that the Lord has entrusted to us at OBC.

Chris Peterson led the elders in reading chapter nine of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 on Free Will. It was encouraging to be reminded that we who are dead in sin are saved solely by the grace of God.

Dan Perina then shared the giving and attendance report for January. While previous months had seen some growth in our giving, the month of January was a little lower than plan. We had a total income of $67,882 compared to a plan of $77,947. This leaves us around $8,000 behind plan on our giving for the year.

Our expenses, however, were well under plan in January at $55,438 compared to a plan of $71,939. We are continually grateful for the faithful and sacrificial giving of everyone at OBC, and we trust that the Lord will continue to provide for the ministry as we proclaim the great news of the gospel.

The elders then discussed our continued support of our newest missionary in Southeast Asia. We are delighted to continue supporting Aaron in the days ahead as he has wonderful opportunities to herald the gospel of Jesus Christ to so many in that region. Please continue to pray for Aaron and his family as they settle into life in ministry in Southeast Asia.

Finally, the elders discussed membership and cleaned up the membership roster. We removed some former members who have either moved or are no longer attending. We are grateful for the many new members that the Lord has brought to OBC in recent years. The next membership class is scheduled for March 28 at 8:30 a.m. in the Library.
