Deacons Report

The Deacons of Omaha Bible Church met on Tuesday, April 23 for our regular meeting to review ministry opportunities, current finances, have a devotion, and fellowship.

Martin Bast facilitated the meeting and opened in prayer with Vimal George taking minutes.

Martin reviewed the agenda for any changes, having none we moved into OBC news, updates and finances. We recapped the Spring workday that completed projects inside and outside, which included some painting and patch work on the interior, and various landscaping efforts on the grounds. It’s amazing what can get done in a morning with 25-30 devoted volunteers.

Moving through the finances, we can still see the faithfulness of the body as giving has remained steady over the past few months. This is a huge praise!

We continued in reviewing chapter 18 of The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 on Assurance of Salvation. This chapter, like many others continues to show the role of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In section 2 we see this, But an infallible assurance of faith, founded on the blood and righteousness of Christ revealed in the Gospel; and also upon the inward evidence of those graces of the Spirit unto which promises are made, and on the testimony of the Spirit of adoption, witnessing with our spirits that we are the children of God;…” If by chance you do not have a copy of the confession go see Greg Gensler or one of the many volunteers in the bookstore, and they will help you get one.

Some of the new business on our agenda consisted of patching and re-striping the parking lot and the effort to clean out and organize the storage area.

We concluded our meeting with praise for all that God has done for our local body and Willie Zwiener closing us in prayer. Our next meeting is scheduled for May 28, at 7:00 p.m.
