The deacons met on Tuesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. at Martin Bast’s house. Keith Walter opened in prayer by praising God and seeking wisdom and discernment in directing us, our meeting and our church. 

Vimal George provided an OBC financial update while Pastor Pat provided the general update. 

Pastor Pat was our ministry guest. He was thankful for the focus of OBC and that the Body of Christ was involved together for the furtherance of the Gospel. He asked for prayer in finding a new elder(s) with Dave Guthrie resigning and wisdom for the elders and pastors to determine how Mike Holloway’s responsibilities will be handled since he is retiring at the end of December. 

Pat was thankful for The Pactum conference and how this is a strategic outreach of OBC. He gave an update on the conference in Texas he spoke at recently along with other projects he has going on. 

Martin Bast led us through chapter 32 of the London Baptist Confession of 1689 on The Final Judgement. The three sections were a sobering and encouraging reminder that God has set a day in which Jesus Christ is the ultimate judge.

The deacons then reviewed past agenda items, body life needs, and church building improvements/needs. Dwight Eveland closed our meeting in prayer at 9 p.m.
