Living in Faith and Increasing in Love by Growing in Humility
2009 Women's Retreat
February 20 - 21, 2009
Lied Lodge Convention Center
Guest Speaker Marlean Felix
Our Savior, Jesus Christ, humbled Himself and took on flesh in order to unify believers redeemed by His blood into one, God-glorifying body. Although we are called to preserve this unity, living and loving as one body is not always easy. Humility and patience are required from those who follow Christ.
This women's retreat will give the ladies of OBC and their guests an opportunity to grow in humility and love for one another as we join together to be exhorted and encouraged through study of God's Word, prayer and discussion.
Marlean Felix comes to us from Santa Clarita, California. She is the wife of Paul Felix, who is a Professor of New Testament Greek at Master’s Seminary. The Felixs have two grown children, Wes and Allyson. Both Wes and Allyson are outstanding sprinters and most recently,
Marlean was able to watch Allyson win two medals in the 2008 Summer
Olympics.
Marlean considers her primary ministry role as being helpmate to her husband of 32 years and loving and encouraging her children. In addition to being a wife and mother, Marlean teaches elementary school and children’s church, mentors Master’s Seminary wives, and shares the wisdom of God’s word at ladies' retreats and conferences. We look forward to having Marlean among us in February.
