The Institute for Biblical Studies (IBS) is a local church based equipping center designed to ground the body of Christ in sound doctrine so that the believer might faithfully serve the Lord and Master of the Church, Jesus Christ. |
We believe that it is God’s design for His people to be equipped in sound doctrine to serve in the body of Christ. As the church builds up one another in the body the church grows in maturity according to the image of Christ (Eph. 4:11-13). God is glorified as His Son is reflected in His people (Rom. 8:29).
Since it is God’s plan for His Church to be fueled by great thoughts of Him and to serve greatly for Him the IBS program systematically and chronologically works through the Omaha Bible Church doctrinal statement (Col. 1:28-29).
Each class will unfold …
The IBS program will assist the student in completing a personal doctrinal statement that reflects the sound teaching of Scripture.
IBS is offered Wednesday evenings during the Fall Winter and Spring quarters. Classes begin at 7pm and end at 8pm.
Throughout the year courses may also be offered during the 6 - 7 pm hour as well as
the 8 – 9 pm hour. Please refer to Current Courses for classes being offered.
In order to better serve the needs of our body these classes are audio
recorded so that they can be downloaded from the OBC web site or ordered
in a CD format. Please talk to the class teacher for more information.
IBS follows the format prescribed in the Omaha Bible Church Doctrinal Questionarre. In keeping with the biblical mandate for elders to guard sound doctrine (Titus 1 & 1 Timothy 3) IBS is committed to training OBC ministry leaders that hold fast sound doctrine in life and ministry. For this reason IBS will chronologically walk through the doctrinal questionnaire providing a biblical foundation for equipping the saints for the work of ministry.
In order to graduate from the IBS program each student will be
asked to complete the doctrinal questionarre as their final project
applying specific truths of Scripture to pertinent doctrinal questions.
