Being on-board with Jesus is Being on-board with his Church

Being on-board with Jesus is Being on-board with his Church

"You can't be on board with Jesus and not be on board with his church."

If there was a sound byte that I wanted to resonate with us this past week it was that one.

This is, of course, in the context of Jesus being the head of the church, the one who purchased it with his own blood, and it being the collection of sinners to praise him.

The point of this is that the church is Christ's. He owns it. He is using it. It is the organization that he has ordained and promised to directly impact your sanctification through.

This really simplifies things for us. If we want to be about promoting Jesus then we want to be about his church. We want to be about serving. We want to be about intentional gospel-centered relationships. We want to use the giftedness that God has given to directly effect the sanctification (spiritual growth) of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Personally, I am thankful that God has put me and my family among so many people who love Christ and his church. I am challenged, refreshed, and encouraged by so many of you. Let's continue to work together to excel still more in grace, that God might continue to use us for his glory and our good (1 Thes. 4.1)

In need of Grace,

Erik
