Titus 2 Ministry

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good so that they may encourage the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.”     Titus 2:3-5

Christian women are uniquely called into relationships with one another.  A closer look into Titus 2 reveals the vivid details of what one of these relationships looks like.  There are to be older women building their lives into younger women.  More mature Christian women living alongside the less mature.  We are to be “allowed” to watch each other live out the details and responsibilities of daily life and to teach and encourage one another as we live to glorify God in all we do.

T2 Groups

The T2 ministry intends to foster relationships between older and younger women.  Less mature women can pattern their lives after the Christ- centered habits of more mature women in the faith by creating these relationship.

Groups will meet once a month in ladies' homes over breakfast, lunch, coffee, etc. (whatever works for each individual group).  Each month, the meeting home will rotate to a different person in the group.

In addition, a church-wide social will be held each quarter for the women of OBC with the purpose of encouraging one another to live more sanctified lives.  New acquaintances and relationships lead to commitments to pray for one another as well.

During the 2011 ministry, we want to refine and focus the groups and socials to reflect Ephesians 4:23 and the Women’s ministry theme “a woman’s pursuit of godly adornment.”  Each month the groups will be given a discussion topic based upon this theme.
